c.t.r. (theatre centre of research), founded in 1982 and still directed by sonia biacchi, conducts a well-established activity in venice:

__production of performances committed towards the research and experimentation of new expressive codes __professional training of operators for theatre and contemporary dance

stemming from the will to develop an in-depth research on the great 20th-century artistic upheavals, the activity of the centre has gradually been focusing on the polyhedric figure of the bauhaus master , oskar schlemmer - painter, scenographer, dancer, director and experimenter - as well as on the verification of the evoking power of expression of sculpture-forms (forms with essential traits and volumes, with neutral colours, made from natural and industrial materials, used for their simple structure) tossed on the scene by dancers or mechanical devises. along this line c.t.r. has performed spectacular events, innovative in respect to the consolidated representational canon, that have brought the public close to important artistic movements of the recent past. in the course of years it has gradually enriched its inspiration, drawing from various forms of contemporary art until it developed a personal style.
